
Mary McCague began studying piano at the age of five with Dr John O Conor at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin. A multiple first prize winner at the Dublin Feis Ceoil, Mary has performed both as soloist and orchestral pianist with the RTE Concert Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra. She has also worked with the Irish Chamber Orchestra and has performed as concerto soloist with the RIAM Chamber Orchestra, RIAM Wind Ensemble, Trinity College Orchestra and the UCD Symphony Orchestra. Mary has given numerous recitals all over Ireland in venues which include the John Field Room, the National Gallery and the RDS Library, and is much in demand as a chamber musician and piano accompanist. She has also been Musical Director with the Dundalk Musical Society for the past four years.
An accomplished violinist also, Mary performs with the classical crossover group, Affinití who were recently awarded the accolade of Best Group and Outstanding Newcomer in the annual www.classical-crossover.co.uk awards (www.affinitimusic.com). She regularly performs on stage and on television with acts as diverse as Michael Bublé, Il Divo, Katherine Jenkins, Westlife, Kanye West and Leona Lewis.
In 2000, Mary was awarded Scholarship of Trinity College Dublin, and in 2002, graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Music and Irish. Mary holds a Masters in Music Performance from the Royal Irish Academy of Music, also with First Class Honours, along with Postgraduate Diplomas in Education and Choral Conducting. Before moving to Cork, following her wedding in 2011, Mary lectured for four years in music performance at the Dundalk Institute of Technology.
